Corporate Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to lead a high‑performing tax compliance and advisory team within a leading independent accountancy firm in the West Midlands. The role combines technical expertise on complex tax matters with strong client‑facing and leadership responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse corporate tax portfolio, ensuring robust compliance reviews and delivering high‑quality advisory outcomes.
• Lead on complex tax issues including capital allowances, CIR, losses, transfer pricing, cross‑border matters, share option schemes (EMI/CSOP), VAT, indirect taxes, duty structuring, R&D tax reliefs, creative sector reliefs, restructuring and M&A.
• Mentor, develop and review the work of junior team members, building a technically strong and confident team.
• Drive workflow efficiency, oversee work‑in‑progress and billing, maintain compliance standards and identify advisory opportunities across the client base.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified with at least six years of corporate tax experience, preferably in a top‑50 practice.
• Proven track record of managing staff, reviewing work and developing high‑performing teams.
• Confident in leading client meetings, delivering advisory reports and building long‑term client relationships.
