Court of Protection Paralegal

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Court of Protection Paralegal to join our Private Client team in Manchester City Centre. Working alongside experienced solicitors, you will support vulnerable clients who lack capacity and help manage their financial affairs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day management of deputyship files.
• Prepare Court of Protection applications and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with clients, families, care providers, local authorities and other professionals.
• Manage client finances, including budgeting, payments and record‑keeping.
• Draft correspondence and legal documents, and prepare annual reports for the Office of the Public Guardian.
• Support fee earners with complex Court of Protection matters.
• Maintain accurate files in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Court of Protection or Private Client team, or a strong interest in this specialist area.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Professional and empathetic communication style.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using case management systems.
