About the role

My client is a top‑tier, full‑service, multi‑site Legal 200 law firm with a high‑profile private client team and an established Court of Protection sub‑department. The firm is a panel deputy for the Office of the Public Guardian and the Court of Protection, handling complex matters such as mental capacity, financial abuse, powers of attorney and advance decisions. The role involves managing a busy caseload of complex matters and contributing to the firm's high‑profile private client team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a busy caseload of complex Court of Protection matters, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Provide expert advice on mental capacity issues, supporting clients and families.
• Address financial abuse cases, safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
• Draft, review and implement powers of attorney and advance decisions in line with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Approximately 8 years post‑qualification experience in Court of Protection law, demonstrating depth of expertise.
• Residency within a commutable distance to Reigate and Banstead, enabling regular onsite presence.
