Court of Protection Solicitor – Deputyship Team

About the role

The Court of Protection Solicitor will join the Deputyship Team in the City of London, providing specialist legal support to vulnerable clients whose financial affairs are managed under the Court of Protection framework. Working within a paper‑less, hybrid environment, you will act as a professional deputy, handling day‑to‑day financial management and liaising with the Office of the Public Guardian and litigation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage clients’ financial affairs, including payments, tax and insurance matters.
• Prepare and submit applications to the Court of Protection and OPG reports.
• Oversee building projects and probate matters for clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, OPG panel deputies and internal teams.
• Assist clients applying to become lay deputies.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in Court of Protection or related public law.
• Strong understanding of financial management for vulnerable individuals.
• Excellent communication and client‑care skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑growing team.
