Court of Protection Solicitor – Senior Associate (4+ PQE)

About the role

G2 Legal Limited is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Contentious Private Client team. The role focuses on Court of Protection and related private client disputes, offering the chance to manage high‑value, complex matters for families, estates and vulnerable individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Advise private individuals, executors, trustees and deputies on contentious private client issues.
• Manage cases from instruction through settlement or trial, including Court of Protection proceedings.
• Handle deputyship, mental capacity, financial abuse, trust and estate disputes, and Inheritance Act claims.
• Work closely with counsel, medical experts and financial advisers to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Participate in alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and negotiated settlements.

Required profile

• At least four years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in contentious private client work.
• Demonstrated experience in Court of Protection litigation, deputyship or mental capacity matters.
• Ability to manage complex matters with minimal supervision.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of Court of Protection law and related private client legislation.
• Experience drafting applications for appointment or removal of deputies/attorneys.
• Proficiency in handling high‑value financial and trust disputes.
