Cover Supervisor – Daily Supply & Long‑Term Placements in Wigan

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work as Cover Supervisors across a range of secondary schools in Wigan. The role involves stepping into classrooms when the regular teacher is unavailable, delivering pre‑planned lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, engaging atmosphere.
• Adapt lesson delivery to suit the needs of diverse student groups.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and any incidents.
• Communicate effectively with school staff regarding pupil progress and any concerns.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Confidence leading a classroom and delivering curriculum content.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, adaptability and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.

Required skills

• Strong classroom management techniques.
• Ability to follow and implement pre‑planned lesson materials.
• Effective verbal communication with students and staff.
