Creative Graduate Teaching Assistant – Arts, Drama & Musical Theatre

About the role

We are looking for a Creative Graduate Teaching Assistant to support primary‑school pupils in Brent across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. The role blends classroom assistance with artistic delivery, using drama, music and visual arts to enrich the national curriculum. Ideal candidates are recent graduates with a background in arts, drama or musical theatre and a passion for education.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons for Reception to Year 6, adapting content for creative delivery.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support, including for children with mild SEN (ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, speech & language needs).
• Design and lead artistic activities that reinforce curriculum objectives.
• Prepare resources, set up equipment and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor progress and report observations.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in an educational or extracurricular setting.
• Confident, enthusiastic and able to engage pupils with imaginative ideas.
• Genuine interest in primary education and, optionally, ambition to become a qualified teacher.

Required skills

• Ability to plan and deliver creative activities using drama, music and visual arts.
• Basic understanding of supporting pupils with mild SEN.
