Creative Student Placement – 12‑Month Teaching Role

About the role

Uppingham School offers a 12‑month Creative Student Placement for enthusiastic art and design students. Based in the Leonardo Centre, you will gain hands‑on teaching experience, run specialist workshops and become an active member of the boarding school community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to 16 hours per week across Design, Fine Art, Photography and Fashion/Textiles.
• Develop and deliver your own specialist workshops during extended opening times.
• Support pupils in studio practice and provide constructive feedback.
• Take on pastoral duties within a boarding house, assisting with trips and events.
• Collaborate with experienced teachers and technicians, contributing to the wider school life.

Required profile

• Current student or recent graduate in a creative discipline (Product/Industrial Design, Fine Art, Photography, Fashion/Textiles).
• Passionate about sharing creative practice with young people.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to undertake safeguarding checks and adhere to school policies.
