Credit Controller

About the role

Ayvens is looking for a Credit Controller to join its established Bristol-based head office in Emersons Green on a 12-month fixed-term contract until 30 September 2027. The role focuses on collecting overdue balances, minimising credit losses, supporting vulnerable customers and resolving queries that prevent payment.

Key responsibilities

• Work with customers in financial difficulty to bring their payments up to date
• Identify accounts where payment is unlikely and take early arrears management, debt and asset recovery action to achieve high collection rates
• Resolve queries promptly and comply with regulatory compliance requirements
• Chase and collect overdue or missed payments by telephone, letter and email
• Solve invoice queries with internal departments and external customers
• Support vulnerable customers and make sure those needing extra help know the options available
• Work with outsourced and supplier partners on overdue payments, debt and vehicle recovery as required
• Maintain continuous professional development

Required profile

• Previous experience managing customers in financial difficulty, collections or credit control
• Excellent written and verbal communication, report writing and presentation skills
• Good time management, planning and organisational skills
• Proven ability to work under pressure in a process-driven role focused on daily KPIs
• Strong customer service record, sound judgement and commercial awareness

Required skills

• Competent use of Microsoft Office, such as Excel and Word
