Credit Risk Oversight Manager

About the role

Monzo is expanding its borrowing business and needs a Credit Risk Oversight Manager to provide independent assurance and challenge across the credit lifecycle. You will work closely with first‑line teams to ensure new products meet the risk appetite while delivering great customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse performance of existing lending products, develop monitoring metrics and contribute to risk committees.
• Partner with first‑line teams on product launches and strategy changes, providing data‑driven insight and counter‑proposals.
• Lead second‑line assurance work, thematic reviews and model validation collaborations.
• Support strategic projects such as stress‑testing, forecasting and maintaining the Credit Risk Framework.

Required profile

• Strong background in consumer or small‑business credit risk, especially unsecured products like credit cards, loans or overdrafts.
• Proven analytical ability to interrogate data, build monitoring tools and spot early risk indicators.
• Experience using credit risk scorecards and NPV models to shape credit decisions.
• Ability to communicate complex risk issues clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• SQL (mandatory).
• Data visualisation tools such as Looker, PowerBI or Tableau.
• Familiarity with AI tools for improving credit and risk processes.
