Criminal Defence Solicitor – 7+ PQE (Hybrid/Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Criminal Defence Solicitor to join a well‑established law firm in Nottingham. The role offers a hybrid working model with the flexibility to work remotely for the right candidate. You will handle a diverse portfolio of privately funded criminal matters from investigation through to resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering serious criminal allegations, fraud, regulatory investigations, road‑traffic offences and confiscation proceedings.
• Provide legal advice and representation to individuals and businesses at all stages of the criminal process.
• Prepare and present submissions in courts and tribunals across England and Wales.
• Liaise with police, regulatory bodies and other stakeholders as required.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with professional standards.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 7 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in criminal defence.
• Proven advocacy skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
• Commercially minded with a client‑focused approach.
• Willingness to travel to courts and police stations as needed.
