Customer Assistant - Nights

About the role

Sainsbury's is hiring a full-time Customer Assistant for its Cameron Toll store in Edinburgh (EH16 5PB). The role is permanent and pays £13.23 per hour, with a night shift premium of £2.45 extra for every hour worked between midnight and 5am. Shifts are planned within the availability window shown and shared three weeks in advance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the store for the day by filling shelves and working steadily throughout the night, handling a variety of product types
• Keep the workspace tidy and the aisles clean and presentable for customers the next day
• Collect and move stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Work across different parts of the store, which may include chilled and frozen areas
• Use equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete work accurately and safely
• Help in other areas when needed, such as picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once trained and confident

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK
• Aged 18 or over, because the role involves handling goods such as alcohol
• Friendly, resilient and able to adapt to the physical demands and sleep disruption of night work
• Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is open to learning new digital tools
