Customer Service Advisor

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Customer Service Advisor to join our growing team in Kempston. This full-time, office-based position is ideal for candidates at the early stages of their customer-service career who enjoy speaking with customers and working with technology. You will be the first point of contact, delivering a seamless experience across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to enquiries via phone, email, social media and online marketplaces.
• Handle inbound calls professionally and route queries to the appropriate departments.
• Manage customer orders using Shopify and internal systems, providing product information and resolving delivery issues.
• Process refunds, exchanges and staff purchases, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Encourage satisfied customers to leave positive online reviews.
• Participate in a weekend rota and occasional out-of-hours cover.
• Support promotional events and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer service, retail or an office environment.
• Confident telephone communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Calm and professional when handling complaints or complex queries.
• Organised, reliable and able to manage a busy workload.
• Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Shopify and other e‑commerce platforms.
• Comfortable using various IT systems and eager to learn new software.
