Cyber Security Apprentice – IT & Security Team

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cyber Security Apprentice to join our IT and Security team at Bodycote in Macclesfield. This apprenticeship offers hands‑on experience in protecting the organisation’s data and systems while you develop the core skills needed for a career in cyber security.

Key responsibilities

• Support the monitoring of security systems, alerts and potential threats.
• Assist in identifying and responding to security incidents.
• Help maintain and improve security controls, policies and procedures.
• Contribute to vulnerability assessments and risk analysis activities.
• Support user‑awareness initiatives and promote cyber security best practices.
• Assist with audits, compliance activities and related documentation.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure operation of systems.

Required profile

• Strong interest in cyber security and technology.
• Good problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to learn new technical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Basic understanding of IT systems (desirable).
• Ability to work onsite in Macclesfield; a vehicle is an advantage.
• Relevant qualifications such as A‑Level ICT, IB ICT, BTEC IT or equivalent.
