Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Cyber Security Consultant to support our Digital Edge & Cyber Security product offerings, primarily focused on securing and optimising banking infrastructure through CDN technologies. The role is hybrid, with two days per week on‑site at the client location.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct WAF, security and bot‑manager reviews and inspect traffic at the edge and origin.
• Implement alerting, monitoring, and incident response for system errors and threats.
• Generate and upload SSL/TLS certificates and manage edge load‑balancing for web applications.
• Configure path‑based routing, caching, storage and custom error pages on edge platforms.
• Collaborate with application teams to harden security configurations and minimise attack surface.
• Validate and implement HTTP methods according to application requirements, mitigating associated risks.
• Provide technical debugging support across the Akamai layer and downstream infrastructure.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of networking and cybersecurity principles, including DNS, IP, TCP handshake and OSI model.
• Experience with attack vectors such as DDoS, SQL injection, command injection, LFI and botnet threats.
• Ability to work proactively with cross‑functional teams and respond to production and pre‑production incidents.
