Cyber Security Engineer – Cloud, SIEM & Incident Response

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Cyber Security Engineer to join our fast‑growing technology company in Oxfordshire. Working on a hybrid basis, you will partner with the CIO and development teams to raise the cyber‑resilience of our cloud platforms, applications and business systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cloud security controls across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Configure and operate SIEM, EDR/XDR and other security monitoring tools.
• Lead vulnerability management, remediation and incident response activities.
• Provide guidance on network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF and VPN solutions.
• Support secure software development practices and application security testing (OWASP).
• Manage Identity & Access Management (IAM) processes and policies.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience in cyber security engineering or security operations.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, SIEM, EDR/XDR and vulnerability management.
• Experience investigating and responding to security incidents.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or NIS2.
• Exposure to regulated environments (e.g., DORA, CMMC) is advantageous.
