Cyber Security Operations Lead

About the role

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Operations Lead to protect its network and information systems. You will join a growing cyber security team, providing expert guidance on risks, detecting threats, and ensuring the organisation meets its objectives securely.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to alerts from monitoring and detection systems within defined SLAs.
• Use configured tools and scripts to identify potential cyber security breaches.
• Analyse, respond to, and escalate cyber security incidents following established procedures.
• Monitor security appliance health, perform basic troubleshooting, and escalate severe issues to engineers.
• Contribute to the development of incident response capabilities, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive logs of all actions taken during incident handling.

Required profile

• Substantial experience in cyber security operations.
• Demonstrable knowledge of security operations and incident management, including detection, response, and threat intelligence usage.
• Understanding of security management systems, organisational controls, standards, and risk mitigation approaches.
• Experience developing and delivering security education and awareness programmes.
