Cyber Security Researcher

About the role

CoreTech is seeking a Cyber Security Researcher to join a highly experienced, technically focused team. You will work in a fast‑paced environment developing rapid prototypes, MVPs, and world‑class research that tackles the most complex cyber security challenges in the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with leading researchers, vulnerability experts, and software engineers.
• Conduct cutting‑edge, novel research and produce niche solutions with immediate real‑world impact.
• Design and prototype security tools, exploit techniques, and mitigation strategies.
• Propose innovative approaches and continuously learn new technologies.

Required profile

• Passion for cyber security and technology.
• Enjoy solving difficult, complex problems and have an inquisitive mindset.
• Strong interest in how technology works and how it can be applied.
• Willingness to share knowledge and work collaboratively.

Required skills

• C, C++ and Python programming.
• Operating system internals (Linux, Windows, embedded).
• Reverse engineering using IDA Pro or Ghidra.
• Network packet analysis with Wireshark.
• Ethical hacking and exploitation techniques.
• Hardware debugging (UART, JTAG, SWD).
• Experience with Android or iOS internals.
• RF technologies and Software Defined Radio.
