Data Analyst Intern – Remote, Part‑time

About the role

Hawkroot is seeking a motivated Data Analyst Intern to join its delivery team on a part‑time, fully remote basis. This three‑month internship offers hands‑on experience working on live client projects, allowing you to apply academic knowledge to real‑world data challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organise datasets to support ongoing analytical projects.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key insights.
• Write and run SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from multiple sources.
• Build and update dashboards and visual reports using Power BI.
• Conduct statistical analysis and present findings using Python or R.
• Support the creation of data models and structured reporting outputs.
• Maintain data dictionaries and contribute to documentation of analytical processes.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and timely delivery of outputs.

Required profile

• Final‑year student or recent graduate in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or a related analytical field.
• Foundational knowledge of SQL and experience working with structured datasets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and data visualisation functions.
• Exposure to Python or R for data analysis through coursework or personal projects.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau or similar business intelligence platforms.
• Understanding of basic statistical concepts such as averages, distributions and correlation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.
• Clear written communication skills for summarising findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
