About the role

Mercor is seeking a Data Annotation Specialist to work remotely on a contract basis. You will help improve AI model performance by transforming large volumes of raw data into structured, high‑quality annotations.

Key responsibilities

  • Synthesize information from extensive text, image, and other data sets.
  • Annotate and categorize data according to detailed guidelines, rubrics, and taxonomies.
  • Flag inconsistencies, ambiguities, or errors to enhance dataset quality.
  • Produce consistent, structured outputs that support AI system improvement.

Required profile

  • Ability to turn complex or high‑volume information into organized formats.
  • Strong critical reasoning, reading comprehension, and written communication skills.
  • A college degree and prior experience with data‑annotation projects.
