Data Architect – Enterprise Lakehouse & Data Warehouse

About the role

We are partnering with a private‑equity backed organisation in Liverpool that is embarking on a greenfield data transformation. As a Data Architect you will own the strategy and design of a modern enterprise data platform that supports reporting, analytics, AI and future innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Design enterprise‑scale data warehouse and Lakehouse architectures.
• Develop data platform strategies using Microsoft Fabric, OneLake and Databricks.
• Build scalable data models, storage frameworks and modern integration pipelines.
• Establish governance, security, lineage and access‑control frameworks.
• Define CI/CD and deployment standards for data products.
• Drive best‑practice adoption for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise data warehouse architecture and design.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform and modern Lakehouse concepts.
• Expertise with Databricks, Unity Catalog and Delta Lake.
• Strong background in PySpark, SQL and Medallion Architecture implementation.
• Experience with data modelling approaches such as Star Schema and Data Vault.
• Solid understanding of data governance, security and access‑management.
