About the role

This permanent position in Brighton supports a public‑sector finance department by turning complex data into actionable insights. You will work closely with accounting teams to improve reporting, visualise performance and help shape strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret complex datasets to provide actionable insights.
• Support the accounting and finance department with regular reporting and data visualisation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address data requirements.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all datasets and reporting tools.
• Develop and maintain dashboards for tracking key performance indicators.
• Assist in the preparation of financial and operational forecasts.
• Provide technical support for data‑related queries and issues.
• Identify opportunities to enhance data processes and reporting methodologies.

Required profile

• Strong background in data analysis, particularly within accounting and finance.
• Proficiency in data manipulation tools and software.
• Experience creating data visualisations to support decision‑making.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate findings effectively to non‑technical stakeholders.
