Data Engineer – Azure Data Platform

About the role

The Data Engineer will design, build, support and operate data pipelines within an Azure‑based analytics and lake‑house environment. Working hands‑on, you will follow established architectural patterns to deliver reliable, secure and well‑governed data for analytics, Power BI reporting and regulated finance use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Databricks (Python, PySpark, SQL) across Bronze, Silver and Gold layers with Delta Lake.
• Support and operate Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse platforms, including performance monitoring and configuration.
• Build Gold‑layer datasets optimized for Power BI and analytics consumption.
• Ensure operational stability, resolve incidents and maintain accurate documentation, lineage and run‑books.
• Apply security, governance and access‑control standards suitable for a regulated environment.
• Contribute to engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines and code reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Databricks, Python, PySpark and SQL.
• Experience supporting Azure data platforms in production.
• Understanding of medallion architecture and Delta Lake.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated environments is desirable.
• Knowledge of dimensional modelling / star schema and Azure Synapse Analytics is a plus.
