About the role

The team behind a leading global quantitative sports‑trading operation is seeking a pragmatic Data Engineer to join its London hub. You will work closely with technologists and quantitative analysts to build and maintain a high‑performance data platform that powers the firm’s trading strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Evolve, improve and maintain the sports‑trading data platform.
• Design, build and sustain robust ETL pipelines for large‑scale data ingestion.
• Develop a world‑class data backbone to ensure reliability, efficiency and data quality.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts to translate trading requirements into data solutions.
• Identify and implement enhancements that reduce latency and increase system stability.

Required profile

• Significant professional experience with Python development in a Linux environment.
• Proven track record handling large datasets.
• Deep knowledge of the DBMS landscape and relational database concepts.
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Not a recent graduate; you should have several years of relevant experience.
