Data Manager

About the role

JMG Group is accelerating its data strategy to support both organic growth and acquisitions. As the Data Manager you will own the group’s data platform, governance and analytics enablement, delivering reliable, secure and timely management information across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, operation and evolution of the SQL Server data warehouse, establishing best‑practice schema design and performance tuning.
• Define and manage ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., SSIS, Power Query) to integrate core broking systems such as Acturis and newly acquired data sources.
• Own Power BI datasets, semantic models, DAX development, row‑level security, gateway configuration and performance optimisation.
• Introduce responsible AI techniques to enrich insights and automate management information.
• Implement data‑governance policies, documentation and validation processes to ensure data quality and timely error resolution.
• Build strong relationships with Finance, Compliance, Operations, Insurer Relations and other business units to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
• Mentor and develop a small team of BI developers/analysts to deliver the data strategy.
• Identify synergies during acquisitions and maintain a roadmap for platform enhancements.

• Proven technical leadership in data platform management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring junior data professionals.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
