Data Protection Solicitor – London (Hybrid)

About the role

The Legists are seeking an experienced Data Protection Solicitor to join their specialist team in London. Working on a hybrid basis, you will handle high‑profile defamation, privacy and data‑protection disputes across multiple jurisdictions, providing advice from pre‑action through to settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Advise a diverse client base on GDPR compliance, misuse of private information, breach of confidence and related privacy matters.
• Manage complex litigation, including defamation claims, reputation management and online content removal.
• Draft pre‑action letters, pleadings, settlement agreements and provide strategic guidance throughout the dispute lifecycle.
• Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities and nurturing client relationships.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in defamation, privacy and data‑protection cases.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage multi‑jurisdictional matters.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of GDPR and UK data‑protection legislation.
• Experience handling defamation and reputation‑related litigation.
• Ability to draft legal documents and negotiate settlements.
