Deputy Manager – Luxury Elderly Care Home

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a purpose‑built luxury elderly care home in Chelmsford as Deputy Manager. Working closely with the General Manager, you will help ensure the delivery of exceptional, person‑centred care while supporting commercial performance and resident satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager with day‑to‑day operations of the home.
• Support occupancy targets, customer experience and commercial performance.
• Lead, motivate and develop department heads and wider care teams.
• Maintain compliance with CQC regulations and internal quality standards.
• Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
• Help manage budgets, rota planning and resource allocation.
• Drive continuous improvement through coaching, supervision and performance management.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead or senior management role within elderly care.
• Nurse with current NMC registration preferred but not essential.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Good understanding of CQC regulations and quality governance.
• Commercial awareness and excellent organisational skills.
• Passion for high‑quality, person‑centred care and developing others.
