About the role
The Deputy Pastoral Care Manager will support the Pastoral Manager in delivering high‑quality emotional and behavioural support to young people with complex needs at Hartwell School. This specialist day school serves pupils with Autism, SEMH and other SEND requirements, and the role is central to creating a safe, nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in leading a team of pastoral staff to meet the emotional and behavioural needs of each pupil.
- Develop and implement individual care plans in partnership with families and clinical teams.
- Monitor progress, assess outcomes and adjust programmes to ensure positive learning experiences.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and external agencies to provide a coordinated approach to care.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
Required profile
- Experience working with young people with BESD, ASD or similar complex needs in a school or care setting.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to motivate and support a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organisational abilities and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
