Deputy Store Manager - Zara Manchester

About the role

Zara, part of the Inditex Group, is hiring a Deputy Store Manager for its Manchester store. You will support the General Manager in leading the store with ownership, pace and calm, playing a key role in commercial performance, high standards and an excellent customer experience, while building an inclusive, motivating culture and leading from the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Support the GM in delivering store performance through clear priorities, floor leadership and consistent follow-through.
• Use KPIs and store insight to act quickly and keep performance on track.
• Support commercial launches and ensure merchandising reflects best sellers, trends and customer demand.
• Maintain strong visual standards, fast execution and customer-led merchandising.
• Drive routines across stock flow, replenishment and stockroom organisation to keep availability.
• Maintain operational standards in security/shrinkage, cash procedures, health and safety, cleanliness and maintenance follow-up.
• Coach and motivate teams on shift, give regular feedback and address issues early and fairly.
• Support recruitment and onboarding, and contribute to succession planning and development plans.
• Help plan and deliver the hours budget, rotas and productivity targets.

Required profile

• Experience in a fast-paced retail environment in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence acting on the shop floor.
• Calm, clear leadership style able to motivate and align teams under pressure.
• Strong standards across operations (stock, shrinkage, cash, compliance).
• Fashion and trend awareness, able to turn insight into action.
• Commitment to inclusive leadership and ownership and integrity.
