Designer – Facade & Cladding Specialist

About the role

Lawtech, a leading principal contractor specialising in cladding remediation, is seeking a Designer to create detailed drawings for multi‑million‑pound projects across London and the South East. The role involves regular site visits to take surveys and ensure designs meet specifications and manufacturer recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Create and revise drawings based on specifications and site surveys.
• Visit sites 3‑4 days a week to conduct surveys, take photographs and gather data.
• Liaise with estimating, commercial, site management and external partners such as manufacturers, structural engineers and architects.
• Respond to technical queries, provide recommendations and raise issues to the D&Q manager.
• Assist with site inspections to monitor technical quality and compliance.
• Ensure site set‑up information is available from start to close and update subcontractor databases.
• Measure and monitor KPIs for site management and subcontractors.
• Attend regular meetings with site teams and contribute to documentation for clients and funders.

Required profile

• Engineering or architecture related studies or equivalent experience.
• Basic CSCS card.
• Experience with facades, external wall insulation (EWI), cladding or rainscreen systems.

Required skills

• Expert user of AutoCAD (3D preferred).
• Knowledge of SketchUp and Revit (optional).
• Competent with MS Excel, MS Word, Project Probe and Microsoft Outlook.
