Development Lead & Solutions Architect

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Solutions Architect & Development Lead to join our senior IT team, reporting directly to the IT Director. This hands‑on technical leadership role will shape the firm’s technology strategy while remaining actively involved in software development, architecture, database management and team leadership. You will design scalable enterprise solutions for a 1,000‑user organisation and work closely with senior stakeholders to drive the business forward.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of enterprise‑wide software architecture and technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain business‑critical applications using C#/.NET, Python, SQL and React.
• Design and build REST APIs and integrations with third‑party systems, including our Case Management System.
• Oversee Microsoft SQL Server environments, T‑SQL development and Power BI reporting.
• Lead, mentor and develop the MI & Application Development team using Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps.
• Work with senior business leaders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams and designing enterprise‑scale solutions.
• Strong technical expertise in C#/.NET and/or Python, REST API development, Microsoft SQL Server & T‑SQL, Power BI, React or modern JavaScript frameworks, Agile delivery and Azure DevOps.
