Development & Technical Manager

About the role

C-SAM is seeking a Development & Technical Manager to lead the modernisation of its legacy Windows‑based software into web and cloud‑based SaaS solutions. The role is fully remote within the UK, with occasional travel to Aberdeen, and combines hands‑on technical oversight, people management, and ownership of cloud infrastructure and security.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the technical strategy for modernising legacy applications into web‑based and SaaS offerings.
• Provide architectural oversight, establish coding standards, and approve major technical designs.
• Line‑manage a small development team, support recruitment, onboarding, mentoring and performance management.
• Own and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes and environment management.
• Maintain and improve the company’s security posture, including authentication, access control, data protection and system resilience.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading development teams and delivering technical strategy.
• Strong background in cloud infrastructure management, preferably Azure.
• Demonstrated ability to modernise legacy Windows applications to modern web platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and security best practices.
