DevOps Engineer (AWS)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing proprietary trading firm in London that blends institutional‑grade market platforms with in‑house front‑office systems. The team operates with a flat structure and a pragmatic “80/20” mindset, focusing on high‑impact automation. This role is ideal for an ambitious engineer with 3‑5 years of cloud experience looking to deepen software automation, internal tooling, and data engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Own, scale and evolve multi‑environment AWS infrastructure using Terragrunt and Terraform.
• Maintain production Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and manage data layers such as PostgreSQL (Aurora), MongoDB and Kafka streams.
• Develop clean automation scripts, internal platform tools and targeted database fixes with Python and SQL.
• Build robust deployment pipelines in GitLab CI and use Datadog for observability and reliability.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of cloud, platform or DevOps engineering experience with a clear trajectory toward seniority.
• Strong production experience with core AWS services (EKS, IAM, RDS) and Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform/Terragrunt.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, comfortable writing internal tools and database scripts.
• Clear, concise communicator who remains calm under time‑sensitive system pressures and values pragmatic execution.
