DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Kubernetes (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our client’s expanding platform team in Camberley. The role is hybrid, with 2‑3 days on‑site and the remainder remote, and focuses on building and operating cloud‑native infrastructure on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain AWS services such as EC2, IAM, S3 and managed databases.
• Deploy and manage container workloads using Kubernetes/EKS.
• Implement service‑mesh solutions (e.g., Istio) for traffic management and telemetry.
• Set up observability pipelines with metrics, logging and alerting using the Grafana stack.
• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Automate CI/CD and GitOps workflows for reliable deployments.
• Write scripts and tools in Python, Go or Bash to improve operational efficiency.
• Apply security best practices across the AWS environment.

Required profile

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Solid Linux systems administration and troubleshooting experience.

Required skills

• AWS core services (EC2, IAM, S3) and managed services (RDS, OpenSearch, DocumentDB, MSK, MQ).
• Kubernetes/EKS container orchestration.
• Service mesh experience (Istio or similar).
• Observability tools – Grafana, metrics, logging, alerting.
• Infrastructure as code – Terraform, CloudFormation.
• CI/CD and GitOps pipelines.
• Scripting languages – Python, Go, Bash.
• Linux administration and security best practices.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £50,000‑£55,000 per year.
• Hybrid working model (2‑3 days on‑site in Camberley).
