DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team in Reading, UK. The role focuses on building secure, reliable infrastructure and communication platforms that support our customers’ safe communications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Azure DevOps.
• Develop and maintain IaC for applications and services enabling secure communication with IoT devices.
• Design, develop, and maintain Kubernetes configurations and related tooling.
• Participate actively in an Agile team, attending sprint meetings and contributing to the backlog.
• Conduct testing, verification, and troubleshooting of infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate infrastructure with software platforms.
• Research and evaluate new public‑cloud technologies to improve maintainability and performance.
• Document design specifications, test procedures, and project updates.

Required profile

• More than three years of professional experience as a developer or DevOps engineer.
• Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to work in an Agile environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Motivation to make a real impact on secure communications.

Required skills

• Solid experience with AWS and Azure public‑cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, including managed cloud clusters and orchestration.
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform; familiarity with CloudFormation and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Experience with Kubernetes Operators, Helm, Kustomize, and preferably ArgoCD or Flux.
• Understanding of IaC development lifecycle and design principles.
• Experience with cloud governance tools such as AWS Control Tower, landing zones, or Identity Center (a plus).
• Proficiency in Linux/Windows environments and Bash/PowerShell scripting.
• Ability to produce clear infrastructure documentation and mentor team members.
• Experience with application operation and monitoring (a plus).
