Director of Customer

About the role

The Data and Communications Company (DCC) is seeking a Director of Customer to lead its customer strategy for a national smart‑metering network. This senior position will shape how DCC works with energy suppliers, network operators and third‑party stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable communications and data services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and embed a customer service and experience strategy across the organisation.
• Lead, motivate and mentor customer success, support and service teams to achieve high performance and satisfaction.
• Oversee customer enquiries, complaint resolution and regulatory relationship management.
• Analyse feedback, track CSAT, NPS and churn metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
• Report customer‑related KPIs to the executive team and influence strategic decisions.
• Own mechanisms that administer regulatory relationships and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in customer‑centric roles within technology, energy or telecommunications.
• Track record of leading high‑performing customer experience or success teams.
• Strong leadership, people‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate customer strategy into organisational action.
