Director, Strategic Partnerships (Foundations, Europe) - Maternity Cover

About the role

Prosper Global (formerly Mercy Corps) is hiring a Director of Strategic Partnerships (Foundations, Europe) for a maternity-cover role in London, UK, or in Europe (Netherlands, France, Belgium, Switzerland). The position is full-time and fixed term, covering December 2026 to June 2027, and will be extended to October 2027 pending FY28 budget approval. It focuses on stewarding and growing partnerships with major foundations in the UK and Europe, with 6-7+ figure grants, and provides line management to the Senior Partnerships Officer - Foundations.

Key responsibilities

• Steward and expand existing foundation partnerships and build trust with newer ones, aiming to renew and increase giving levels and alignment with Prosper Global's priorities
• Develop and implement individual strategies for key partnerships and initiatives, mobilising internal and external resources
• Act as an internal expert on the European philanthropic landscape and feed foundation perspectives into proposals with program staff
• Support country and regional teams in building relationships with foundation donors and coordinate them across multiple touchpoints
• Contribute to the multi-year global fundraising strategy from a UK/Europe perspective and support cross-team initiatives such as campaigns and key events
• Manage the foundation donor portfolio to a revenue goal, including revenue projections, and represent the portfolio internally and externally
• Represent Prosper Global at donor events, fundraising platforms and communities of practice, and prepare executives for high-level donor meetings
• Integrate safeguarding into the work and encourage team members to report concerns through integrity channels
• Line manage the Senior Partnerships Officer - Foundations (London-based)

Required profile

• Strategic mindset and ability to navigate complex internal team structures to rally teams toward a common goal
• Experience managing foundation donor relationships and fundraising strategy
• Ability to provide proactive, second-to-none partner engagement

What we offer

• Salary starting at GBP 53,360 in the UK or EUR 63,040 in the Netherlands, commensurate with experience and internal equity
• Fixed-term maternity-cover position
