Domestic Abuse Support Worker – Brighton

About the role

Stonewater’s Brighton Women’s Refuge is seeking a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to provide trauma‑informed, strengths‑based support to women and children escaping domestic violence. You will manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, helping them navigate safe housing, legal rights and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of customers, delivering one‑to‑one and group coaching sessions.
• Facilitate sessions on safety planning, healthy relationships, substance use, mental health, finance, budgeting and employment skills.
• Conduct CAADA DASH risk assessments and develop robust safety plans.
• Identify and sign‑post clients to partner agencies, including mental health, offending services and housing advice.
• Record accurate case notes and complete required paperwork using the housing management system.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with individuals experiencing domestic abuse and multiple complex needs.
• Demonstrated ability in complex case management with a focus on outcomes.
• Strong written communication skills for concise case documentation.
• Experience collaborating with specialist agencies and understanding of housing and benefits advice.
