Domestic Assistant – Hospital Cleaning

About the role
The Domestic Assistant will join the Domestic Services Department at Ayrshire Central Hospital, providing essential cleaning and housekeeping support on a permanent part‑time basis. Working evenings from Monday to Friday, you will help maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a range of cleaning and housekeeping duties to high standards within the hospital.
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment where required.
- Follow infection‑control and health‑safety procedures specific to a healthcare setting.
- Adapt to changing priorities and staffing needs, especially in the North Sector premises.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clinical staff.
Required profile
- Physically fit and able to handle the demands of hospital cleaning.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and flexibility to adjust to shifting schedules.
- Understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a healthcare environment.
Required skills
- Industrial cleaning equipment operation (advantageous).
- Experience in a healthcare cleaning setting (advantageous).
