Domestic Assistant – Sheltered Housing Cleaning

About the role

We are looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our sheltered housing team on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. You will help maintain clean, safe and welcoming communal areas and guest rooms for residents, visitors and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional cleaning services across lounges, corridors, kitchens, toilets, offices, storage areas and guest rooms.
• Prepare and tidy guest rooms in line with bookings, ensuring high standards of hygiene.
• Carry out health and safety checks, report hazards or faulty equipment promptly.
• Support residents with a friendly attitude and direct any repairs or tenancy concerns to the appropriate team.
• Work flexibly across multiple sheltered housing sites as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in cleaning or domestic services with a strong focus on hygiene.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH and infection control.
• Ability to interact respectfully with older and vulnerable people.
• Self‑motivated, able to prioritise tasks and work independently.
• Reliable, flexible and willing to travel between sites.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills.
• Knowledge of COSHH procedures.
• Infection control practices.
