Duty Engineer – London Heathrow

About the role

The Duty Engineer will lead aircraft maintenance services at London Heathrow for Qatar Airways, ensuring fleet performance and compliance with safety standards. This on‑site position supports both routine line maintenance and urgent AOG situations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver aircraft maintenance tasks to meet quality, productivity and dispatch reliability targets.
• Plan and execute assigned activities, ensuring proper use of equipment and tooling.
• Communicate with all Qatar Airways parties at the station and supervise audit processes.
• Release work completed by self or mechanics and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Monitor Health, Safety and Environment requirements and maintain serviceable tools.
• Manage shift handovers and coordinate ground time with the Maintenance Operations Control Centre.
• Provide AOG support, travel for aircraft recovery, and execute line‑maintenance contracts for other airlines.

Required profile

• Relevant college or university qualification in engineering or aviation.
• Minimum two full‑fleet Qatar Airways EASA/ICAO/QCAA licences and approvals.
• Licensed Engineer authorised to work on foreign carrier aircraft types.
• Holder of an EASA Part‑66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence.
