Duty Manager – Boutique Hotel (Bath)

About the role

We are seeking an energetic Duty Manager to lead the front‑of‑house teams at a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Bath. You will be the visible leader on shift, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable stay from arrival to departure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead hotel operations during your shift, overseeing reception, housekeeping and restaurant areas.
• Support and supervise front‑of‑house staff, stepping in at reception or food‑and‑beverage service when needed.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, handling guest queries and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain high presentation standards throughout the property.
• Coordinate communication across departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Coach, motivate and develop team members, assisting with training and onboarding.
• Ensure health, safety and operational procedures are consistently followed.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Supervisor or similar leadership role in a quality hotel.
• Passion for boutique hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
• Hands‑on, confident leader who enjoys supporting and developing staff.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Positive, professional and guest‑focused attitude.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
