EAL Teaching Assistant – Full‑Time, South London Secondary School

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated EAL Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in South London. Working alongside experienced teachers and specialist EAL staff, you will help students whose first language is not English develop the language skills they need to succeed across the curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group language interventions for EAL learners.
- Support pupils at Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 English proficiency.
- Assist students with speaking, listening, reading and writing tasks.
- Help learners access lessons across all subject areas.
- Collaborate with teachers and the EAL department to monitor progress.
- Promote confidence, inclusion and academic achievement.
- Support newly arrived students as they settle into school life.
Required profile
- Experience working with children, young people or EAL learners.
- Passion for supporting multilingual learners.
- Desire to pursue a career in teaching, education or educational support.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a busy secondary school environment.
