Ecologist

About the role

You will deliver a range of consultancy services both internally and externally, ensuring ecological constraints and opportunities are managed effectively. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will support habitat and species surveys, ECoW requirements, impact assessments, licensing, mitigation and Biodiversity Net Gain across diverse contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver consultancy services to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring ecological constraints and opportunities are managed effectively.
• Support habitat and species surveys across project sites.
• Provide expertise on Ecological Condition of Works (ECoW) requirements.
• Conduct impact assessments, licensing, mitigation planning and Biodiversity Net Gain calculations.
• Undertake both fieldwork and desk‑based analysis for a variety of contracts.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or professional experience in ecology, environmental science or a related field.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel to field sites as required.
