EIA Associate Director – Environmental Impact Assessment

About the role

The client is a leading multidisciplinary environmental and planning consultancy seeking an experienced Associate Director to strengthen its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team. Based in London, Kent or Gatwick, the role offers a collaborative environment and involvement in projects across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare EIA screening and scoping requests.
• Draft and compile Environmental Statements, including introductory and topic chapters.
• Coordinate specialist technical inputs and integrate them into final statements.
• Serve as primary contact between clients and project teams.
• Lead EIA coordination and delivery with a high degree of autonomy.
• Support the growth and development of the EIA capability within the business.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience in an environmental or planning consultancy or the public sector.
• Relevant degree or Master’s in Environmental Policy, Planning, Environment and Development, or a related field.
• Practitioner Membership (or higher) of ISEP.
• Proven ability to coordinate EIAs across a wide range of sectors.
• Strong communication and project‑management skills, able to handle competing priorities.
