Electrical Engineer – Design & Control Systems

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and deliver electrical systems for a range of external client projects, including positioning controls for remote handling, machinery controls, safety circuits and LV/ELV installations. The role involves creating schematics, hook‑ups and other design documentation using specialised CAD tools, and supporting risk assessments, commissioning and testing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical system designs for complex machinery and automation projects.
• Produce detailed schematics, wiring diagrams and bill of materials using electrical CAD software.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to ensure safety and compliance.
• Support on‑site commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of electrical installations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate control and safety solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical engineering covering design, safety circuits, distributed I/O and low‑voltage systems.
• Background in designing for remote handling, robotics or motion‑control applications.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver high‑quality documentation.

Required skills

• Electrical CAD software – Trimble Amtech, PAScal, SEE.
• Electrical design and LV/ELV system expertise.
• Safety circuit design and distributed I/O implementation.
• Risk assessment and hazard analysis.
• Commissioning and testing of electrical systems.
