Electrical Engineer – Remedial Work

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Electrician to manage a full range of electrical remedial work, inspections and testing for our client at the University of the West of England. The role involves both planned maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring high‑quality service and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Complete pre‑planned maintenance, electrical systems inspection and testing.
• Carry out reactive and remedial repairs following test results and helpdesk directions.
• Produce detailed inspection reports and work write‑ups for the client.
• Source parts, obtain manufacturer support and solve technical problems.
• Maintain logs, risk assessments and adhere to health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years experience in building maintenance, including planned, reactive and remedial electrical work.
• C&G Level 3 2357 (or equivalent) and AM2 C&G 2382 18th Edition qualification.
• Full UK driver’s licence.
• Ability to work on‑site, both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Use of PDAs/electronic devices for recording work.
• Conduct point‑of‑work risk assessments for each task.
• Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call cover on a rota basis.
