Electrical Estimator – Trimble Experience

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team near Cambridge. You will work on high‑value projects and multiple concurrent tenders, ensuring accurate cost assessments and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities and generate tender enquiries.
• Maintain and update the customer and sub‑contractor database.
• Review enquiry documentation and produce detailed estimation files, both electronically and in paper form.
• Prepare and send specialist subcontract package enquiries, track responses, and compile quotations.
• Negotiate costs, discounts, and purchasing terms with suppliers and sub‑contractors.
• Record all new enquiries in the database and communicate with customers throughout the tender process.
• Supervise one team member and conduct value engineering on project tenders.
• Attend customer site visits as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical estimating, preferably on high‑value projects.
• Hands‑on experience using Trimble estimation software.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong initiative, organisational skills, and effective communication.
• Business development or client generation experience is a plus.
