Electrical Lead

About the role

The Electrical Lead will join the Life Science team in Macclesfield, reporting to the Project Director and working closely with the MEP Lead and Engineering Management team. The role provides technical and managerial leadership for electrical systems on large‑scale pharmaceutical and technology projects, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the electrical team and oversee delivery of LV/MV distribution, UPS, generators, lighting, fire alarms and life‑safety systems.
• Ensure all electrical works meet programme, cost and quality objectives.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Develop and implement execution strategies, resource allocation and planning.
• Review and approve design documents, sub‑mittals and material selections.
• Oversee FATs, SATs, commissioning and integrated system testing (IST).
• Drive health, safety and environmental compliance across electrical works.
• Act as primary point of contact for clients, consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, process, instrumentation and BMS teams.
• Lead coordination meetings and report progress, risks and opportunities to project leadership.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in LV/MV distribution, critical power and life‑safety systems.
• Proven leadership experience on large‑scale pharmaceutical construction projects.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
