Electrical Technician – Maintenance

About the role
Join a leading oil and gas company in Immingham as an Electrical Technician, supporting the safe and efficient operation of critical infrastructure. You will work within a skilled maintenance team on a complex, dynamic site, delivering day‑to‑day electrical maintenance, inspection and repair.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, overhaul, fault finding and repair of electrical equipment using OEM manuals, drawings and engineering documentation.
- Respond to breakdowns, support diagnostics and complete inspections in line with BS7671 and BS60079 standards.
- Plan, coordinate and oversee contractor activities, including permits, handovers and safe isolation procedures.
- Maintain accurate records via CMMS, including work orders, parts used and asset updates.
- Support site operations through calibration of instruments, alarm testing and maintenance of systems such as SCADA and tank gauging.
- Manage stock, liaise with suppliers and contribute to continuous improvement through audits and training of junior staff.
Required profile
- Qualified Electrical Technician with a recognised time‑served apprenticeship and 18th Edition (BS7671) certification.
- Proven experience in the petrochemical, oil & gas or process industry.
- Ability to work safely with permit‑to‑work systems and interpret technical drawings.
- Effective communicator, proactive, physically fit and holder of a clean driving licence.
